And  the speed of sound is 343.2 metres per second (1,126 ft/s; 1,236 km/h; 768 mph; 667 kn)

So after you watched all the videos in this thread, and read all the comments you still can't figure out how they use modern technology to fake "space" ?

The biggest deception is chroma-keying (usually green/blue-screens) and then overlaying the background you require.
It is incredibly easy, I can chroma-key a video in under 30 seconds using my modest home workstation (i7 skylake cpu, 16gb ram etc) which would look pretty professional, but when, like NASA, you have $50 million a day, the best visual effect artists then you can create virtually indistinguishable results from a 'true' photograph.
They also employ compositing, which is layering of different elements to create a 'scene', they could do this with film over 100 years ago although it is all now done with computers.

I usually despise citing wikipedia links, but these are factually correct should you wish to read up on the processes.

There are 2 reasons the 'fake' video spacewalks are filmed in a water pool

1: The water gives the appearance of no 'gravity' when the astronots move around (why it is called the Neutral Buoyancy Lab)
2. The Neutral Buoyancy Lab is incredibly blue, even more so than a typical swimming pool

I found this story from last year about plans to build a space station with artificial gravity. I guess that would make it easier to fake it without the need of harnesses and wires, and CGI!

Funny though the station is shaped like a giant phallus and is 330' long!

This was shown on the BBC, I flipped the image so you can clearly see the Dicomar print at the bottom of the screen in the centre and with a few tweaks to the levels in Photoshop and you can clearly see the lens and hood of the camera in the image, supposedly caused by lens flare.
A quick Google search found the second image which bears a remarkable resemblance when also flipped and resized.
100% proof of compositing!

One last thing, how perfectly perpendicular is the vertical line emanating from the so called Sun? That is so unnatural because it is perfectly vertical and uniform in thickness,
These type of tricks are used to mask joins and errors which cannot be hidden in the usual ways in Photoshop.
