I saw a post on ISS's Facebook yesterday titled "new blue marble" and the pictures they're able to pass off as real absolutely blow my mind. There was this picture of the "darkside of the earth" complete with lights representing cities that looked so fake I had to comment. Most everyone that commented these photos of earth had something to say like "these photos show that we need to unite as citizens of earth". Kinda creepy
I also realized that none of these "pictures of the earth" show any stars in them. I suppose it would be too difficult for the artist to keep the possitioning of the stars consistent with the angle of the "camera" to the earth.

What a crock. You can clearly see the processor struggling to render the complex texture-mapping on such a large moving model. The effect is similar to crrow77s shitty hologram pulsating moon videos as the texture pauses and even doubles back on itself. Watch the texture on the most curved areas.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'd also like to point out that the ISS is supposed to have three long segments on each end where in this picture there is only two. At this clarity there is no reason why we should only see 2, so we can rule out the idea that it may be too far away to see

This was at the 1:44 mark from this site: time.com/3819293/gopro-spacewalk-astronauts/ so you can pause it and verify for yourself. The camera is then turned around and all you see is the black of space, the scaffolding from the helmet flash magically disappears (sloppy editors forgot to clean up the 2 frames from the helmet flash).
If you then watch the underwater training videos for astronauts in the NASA pools you will see the scaffolding. hahaha, so fake!
