Gas in the Universe. Empty Gas in the Universe.

I noticed a posting, elsewhere, about the discovery of giant "gas" clouds in our Universe. A thought occurs. Given the characteristics of gases, https://www.sciencing.com/five-properties-gas-8273866/, how would they then "clump" in the vacuum of space? "Space" being an infinite, empty "container". (Just a weird thought from an old brain)

If gas can form an atmosphere, it can form clumps. If it cannot, then it cannot.
